Cuba

cultivating person-to-person connections

Since conception, Common Change has sought to help as many people as possible compassionately. With a desire to eliminate personal economic isolation, Common Change soon found individuals throughout Cuba being guided by a similar vision. By partnering with individuals and groups throughout Cuba, Common Change nurtures new projects, creates links to new opportunities, and deepens relationships.

Featured Project: ElderCare
ElderCare is a caregiving program for elders in Havana Cuba and currently supports 60 individuals in the Vedado community in partnership with International Christian Community. It was birthed to assure that older people’s essential need for subsistence are met. Elders (commonly referred to as “members”) often face limitations in the areas of self-care, home-care, running errands for food, toiletries, and medication. Caregivers do not simply provide an extra set of hands, but also provide companionship out of genuine care for the whole person.
